Hey all! so sorry its been so long since ive been on here, the last few days have been really really crazy. So saturday was the day when all the kids left, which was a great relief for me as my cabin had been slipping further and further out of control for the last week, to the point where one kid punched another in the face infront of me. not good, but it gave me an excuse to shout at them all and draw the reigns in a little! So saturday came, we had a mad mad tidying up session first thing in the morning. Then me and brendan found out we were going to LA, that day. Which was so so so exiting. So we travelled down on the bus with all the kids, two seperate busses, a mini bus, a pickup, and a SUV all went down cos there were so many kids with lots of baggage coming back. So we get to LA at about 6 oclock and meet up with all the other people from skylake and we went out and hit the town... with Jeff the directors credit card!!! he gave us it to cover all our expenses. So we had a really lovely meal in this place called the cheesecake factory. I had a pasta dish with prawns and chicken, it was so so nice. The bill came to $130 for 4 of us so it was pricey, but hey, jeff owes us! We then headed back to our hotel/motel. Which was ok, not the ritz but was great to have 4 rooms full of people to run around between. It was really great fun. We were meant to get up at 6 this morning to get to the federal building for 730, we woke at 645 by accident so we had a mad mad rush getting organised and getting all the kids on the bus and all the lawyer parents off the bus. But it was great, i had a great ride back, made lots of new kid friends who are already telling people im the coolest!! LA was fantastic, we did alot of driving round beverly hills area in the big skylake mini bus with me and brendan just junping about with excitment. It didnt really feel real at all. So we are defo gona try and put our names down on the list for next time cos its really great fun. So now im a relief counsellor, which means that i just cover for the cabin when the normal counselor is off. What it really means is lots and lots of free rest time for me, which is so nice, im really tired and ready for a really chilled out few weeks. The kids im relieving for are 13yearolds and ive spent tonight with them, they are completely awesome, had me laughing outloud all night. I bought a phone card the other night, so be expecting a phone call home at somepoint to mum and dad!! Anyways, im gona head off now, i think im going to sleep on the tennis courts tonight, just cos i can. It's the middle of July and I am still having to come in to Uni!! They never told me about this when I applied for the job. Anyhow at least I can access the internet and read your fab blog. I can't belive you have been to LA LA Land before me. Is it mad? Is it full of people who look like they were made by Ardman Animation? Did you see anybody famous or where any famous people live? Everything here is rolling along. Rosie is now speaking loads. Not just words but sentances. She is quite a character. Terry is starting work on the bathroom. Old one out and new one in. Allready had three leaks!!!!!!!! Still:he's my brother. You will notice massive changes to house and sis when you get back. You sound to be having a ball? CAN WE HAVE SOME PICTURES PLEASE -

Don't see much of John these days. Pops in occassionally but not every day as he use to. He is not very well. He looks grey and has lost quite a lot of weight. He whent for some tests at the hospital last week. He hasen't told us much but it dosen't sound great. I feel sorry for him. It can't be easy living all on his own. Whent to the photo fest in Arles and had the usuall good time/bad time. Saw lot's of mediocore work given great exposure and coudn't hep thinking "I could do that" and feeling a bit overlooked and down. Whent to a talk by some Magnum people and thought again that that is the natural home for me. Maybe I will try and apply this year. Mark Power was succesfull this time and he is now, after three years, a full member. If I'm honest I would have to say I feel a bit jelouse about that. But I must not be bitter. Can't wait to see you again but don't want to wish your time away either. Have a ball T.

hey hey,
in bulgaria... so hot! going to varna by sleeper tonight and heading to the beach! spent the past 2days with a 32 year old american dude who looks about 22 and has spent the whole time trying to (obvioulsy) make a move on me! me and heather are finding this highly amusing as you can imagine!!!!! he's getting nowhere, except making me more and more stubborn! haha! there's wild dogs everywhere and begging kids following us! all an experience! no where near as bad as bucharest which was def an experience - it was like kazikstan or somewhere!!! glad we went though, cool people as always, but rude locals! don't think they like the english! lol. be home on thurs - gutted!!!! but t4 this weekend, ace lineup! then im spending a few days in newcastle with lou checking out accomodation and just catching up with her, im missing the girl! then fuerteventura! cant wait to just have a relax! im so worn out! lol. we spend increasing amounts of time people watching, but you know how much i love it so it's all good, and seriously the people in these places make for good watching!!! that sounds mean and it prob is but it's so true, heather'll tell you that!!
anyway, v jealous of you la visit, oh my word, so jealous! my knew old friend wants me to go to washington next summer, but he has flight points or something and we could fly return for 200quid with them... jesus!! may have to be open minded on that one! i may shut up now... i never shut up with new people, heather's finding it highly amusing!!!

WHERE'S MY PASSWORD..!!!!!!! love to hear more about Brendan as he seems to be your main buddy - am i right.? It's going to take you 6 weeks to tell us all the stories. Cheesecake factory sounds amazing - looked at the menu on the internet - it's a novel..!!!! you know, $130 is only £16 each which is really not too expensive at all. glad you have a new role now. must be very intense being with one little group for a whole month. will you still be doing some photography.?
Well, it's still almost raining here although we had a few dry spots over the weekend. Carl's thinking of build an Ark - it has been the most unbelievably wet summer and you escaped to california. Sure this has been a life changing experience Tom. I'm excited every single day for you.
Some 'hellos' - Terry (with Sadey the dog) - he always asks about you; Hazel, Laura Bentley (came into Poppies with her mum; John and Sandra and Hannah from my course. Sure there's more but just can't remember at the mo'. Oh and Haley cos Carl was chatting to her on Saturday night at the school bash thingy and Lucy from the Naked Man. Think Jade is nearly at the end of her great adventure - also seems to have had an amazing time. And Nan and grandad of course.
